its all in now!
Its done. The last of the application for The Husbands Permanent Residency is in. There are admittedly a couple items missing, but at this time, those things can wait and no doubt by the time we have them in our hot little hands, Immigration will be requesting them. Besides one of those things, the last time we made the same application, we were told to wait to have the medical exam that TH has to have until the Visa was about to be issued.
The application? Here it is:
yes it is that thick. Really.
When I showed my supervisor how thick it was, she asked if I had to fill it out by hand. Not this one. The last one I did. Thank God for the small miracle of Adobe fillable forms!

I’m praying that it will come through quickly now!!
Btw, the medical isn’t so bad…I had a chest xray (checking for TB), a small amount of bloodwork done (mandatory syphillis check and full blood count ), urine-sample test, and a brief physical exam (where they test your eyesight and hearing, take your blood pressure and check your reflexes – not a big deal, wasn’t invasive). If there’s anything amiss the GP is required to let you know within a week…so if you don’t hear anything then you know it’s all systems go and the report will be sent to and processed by a medical officer at Immigration.
In my experience, this part took a little while to get processed though - about 2 months for me, but after that it’s pretty quick and straightforward. He’ll probably get a notice from Immigration telling him to re-enter the country at a border crossing before a certain date and then it’s just a case of getting the paperwork officially stamped. They send the PR card a few weeks after that.
@Kat - Thanks Kat! We’ve been told recently the whole thing could take less than six months from here! Here’s hoping it all goes smoothly and swiftly this time! ~ We should be so blessed!
Yeah we know about the medical already, as Paul had one in Dublin. Only it is far less expensive here than Dub!
congrats..doesn’t it feel good to get that over with?
thanks bluedreamer. while that part feels good to get it done with, it will feel so much better when we get the yes answer and no longer have to deal with Immigration at the level that we are nowdealing with them on! It will be nice to have some “leverage” and stability.
