• as only Santa can do …

  must get sleep ….. Christmas Eve Day in the life of an insane mother of three:

  7.30am woken by wee blonde child who is sent back to bed but not befroe she wakes healthy weighty wee man

  8am give up trying to stay in bed where it is warm & cozy as healthy weighty wee man is now getting annoyed about being stuck in cot while very awake

  8.15 to 9am usher children downstairs an get breakfast

  9am to 10.30am visit with husband while tidying kitchen of previous night take away as was too tired to put take away left overs in refridgerator the nigh before; discuss days planned duties, which include sorting Sants’s Sack, clean house, last minute shopping for vegetables for Christmas dinner & the odd gift, visit aunties and deliver cards, laundry and an early evening in.

  10.30am husband and oldest large child leave house to go do their own jobs for the day

  10.35am to 4pm clean bathroom, do laundry, keep healthy weighty wee man and wee blonde child entertained until nap time.  During nap time, try to put clothes away while trying to sort out Santa’s Sack.  Continue attempting to clean house completely.  After nap time feed wee blonde child and healthy weighty wee man lunch. And try to prepare to leave house to get vegetables and last minute gifts at local shopping centre.  Then go about a wee bit of visiting to deliver late chirstmas cards and local gifts.

  4pm load car boot of cards , local gifts and children, then rush out of house race into local shopping centre with wee blonde child and healthy weighty wee man in shopping trolley while trying to entertain wee blonde child who does not want to be in shopping trolley as healthy weighty wee man continues to beat closest arm and clenched fist against her.  Get last minute needs, gifts and vegetables.

  4.30pm sit intraffic frustrated as wee blonde child is not happy to be strapped in a non moving car and is letting insane mother of three know about it.  Healthy weighty wee man quickly falls a sleep …..

  4.45pm arrive at first port of call for visiting with family members and try REALLY hard not to appear rude as want to have as fast a visit as possible as there are still MANY things to be done at home.

  5.45pm next port of call which is also a rendesvous with oldest large child and husband.  Whirlwind visits with various other family

   

  And entry goes unfinished ‘coz I just ran out of time …..
