  • I think I want a new camera …..

So The Husband has laid claim to the digital camera … well it was his before we met and got married, so I guess he rightfuly calls it HIS.

However lately I have been having to go look for said camera to take pictures of the things I want to take pictures of.  And when I do find said camera there is very little battery power left in it.  I am thinking that I should look in to investing in one before we embark on our adventure of moving to the other side of the planet.  I don’t want a big one, just a wee lad that fits in my handbag and takes nice pictures when I want it to…

And then maybe I’ll post more pictures.

  • piece by precarious piece the household items go

so I started telling everyone at work now that we are moving and we are there fore selling EVERYTHING in the house and now we are missing two chests of drawers.  Later the last sofa and the mexican pine coffee table will be gone.  The Husband informed me earlier that our bedroom suite will be going at the weekend… soon we shall be living outta cardboard boxes, at least we will still be IN our house!

  • Yep I missed spring & summer

two kettles of water this morning to clear the windscreens of the car so I could go to work…. last week I was going to work in just my suit jacket… wish Mother Nature would make up her mind or at least get something for these hot flashes she’s having!

  • movement update…

Okay well as I just sold my car, my lovely, comfortable, spacious, airy gorgeous car, okay I disgress… as I just sold my car ~ we had better make this move permanent!

So where we are now.  We are waiting for the LMO for the Husband to be given to the potential employer and they will send it to us at which point we will give those details to Immigration Canada to get a work permit for The Husband.

But regardless we are making the move and where we land (other than Vancouver, BC) after June 9th remains to be seen.  All things going for us and God willing, it will be Calgary.  If not Calgary, then chances are great that it will be Edmonton.

And that my friends is where we are at that.  Still in Dundalk, Co Louth, Ireland.

  • those who live in glass houses …..

Well here I am at work early on a Saturday morning and I am pondering a conversation that was had last night.  In this conversation it was said of how another that is known to the two conversants, will “take the hump” if that person does not get their own way or have things handed to them without having to work for them.  I don’t get it when people act that way.  Obviously the two conversants were raised in such a manner that a gift is a gift and not to be expected, and if you really want something then get off yer tookas and work for it.

I just don’t understand that attitude in people and I have to say, at one time I might have felt a loss of the person that was the subject of that conversation in my life, but not anymore.  Infact it’s making me want the time until we leave for Canada to go faster.

One of the things about Ireland I will not be sad to leave behind ~ like the weather.

  • lookin at old family video….

you forget how children can change so drastically.  as we start to sell things for our pending move to Canada, one of those items was the old camcorder and I made sure that we had all the video taped from that to keep for posterity sake (and to bribe children when they get in to their teens, weddings, etc (If they live that long!!)).  Part of the video showed me heavily pregnant with Healthy Weighty Wee Man and Wee Blonde Child starting to walk.  My how time flies!  The size of each og them now, I have forgotten how small they used to be.  not that they were ever very small to begin with.  I also forgot how large I used to be.  part of the video showed us getting ready for WBC’s 2nd Birthday Party and me at a healthy size 16.  now I’m a size 10.  don’t ask I don’t know.

  • a season of (or is it for) change ….

it seems spring sprung over night and this is evident in many ways, first; there is not as much rain when it rains (still 3 out of 5 days a week), second; with the time change I now have to go looking for Oldest Large Child in the neighbourhood at bed time, and dinner and supper time for that matter, third; the fire is lit well after 3pm in the day and fourth; we are going for more family walks in the evening and my butt hurts!

Oh and how could I forget to mention the biggest change of all, our move to Canada.  Still waiting on paper work, but were selling up and going anyway!

  • MAMMMMEEEEE!!!! COME HERE QUICKLY!!!!

Wee Blonde Child elicited this directive this morning as I was sitting down to a cuppa coffee after getting Oldest Large Child off to school.

As it sounded rather serious I rushed to the playroom where WBC and Healthy Weighty Wee Man were playing and watching TV expecting to find one or both hung/caught/held up in something that would have been a precarious position and possibly harmful to one or both, only to be greeted with ….

    wait for it …

    its a doozy ….

    “Balamory’s on”

at which point I could have placed her in one of the above mentioned positions I had mentally seen her in, for the minor heart attack that occurred between the sitting room and the playroom…

  • mixed seasons??

The weather of the past few days has been such that I have begun to wonder if I somehow missed spring and summer and we had jumped straight in to autumn.  But then this is Ireland, anything is possible.
