  • I LOVE IT HERE!

I can not say enough that even after just one day I have found the most enjoyable work place!  Everyone is very friendly no nasty “atmosphere”.  I like it!

    I like it!

    I like it!

  • first day …

    Awake before the alarm sounds,

In to the wardrobe to pick out just the right clothes,

    Hot shower,

Audience for hair drying and make up application,

Shushing (Wee Blonde Child and Healthy Weighty Wee Man don’t know quiet!),

    Oldest Large Child roused,

    Breakfast,

    Lunches made,

    Double check ~ look okay?

    Off I go …..

  • homage to a better life

there is a really long story here and I am fairly certain that the person who this post is about reads, so I will try to be courteous about what I have to say.

On this day 19 years ago, I gave birth to a Beautiful Baby Girl.  She was born at 6:18am weighing 8lbs 7 1/2oz.  And she was not mine to keep.  Oh she was mine alright!  But realistically, what could I offer the BBG in the way of being a parent when I was still a baby myself.  I was 17, not yet finished school, and most definitely unemployed.  Long before her arrival, I had done a lot of soul searching, agonising, arguing, crying, and ultimately growing up.

I chose to give this Beautiful Baby Girl up for adoption to a couple who could not have children themselves for what ever God’s reasons.  Over the years I have had a little contact with the family, mostly progress reports sent to me to tell how the BBG was doing, what her interests were, what life she had lived and some of the accomplishments she achieved.  I was only to get them for 2 years, they continued for another five.  When the BBG was about 6 years old, I actually met her parents.  They are wonderful people and so re-assuring.  They had told me at the time that the BBG was complaining about poor eyesight, and they had had her eyes tested and she had perfect eyesight.  I said to them, “She wants glasses.”  The Parents asked why I thought this and I told them, “That is what I did when I wanted glasses about the same age.”  They felt that this couldn’t be the case as no one else that the BBG knew had glasses.  I got a letter later that year saying that once a pair of clear lenses in some frames were bought, the BBG had better eyesight …

Over the years that have been, I have grown, started my own family and I have at times sorely missed having the BBG in my life.  But she has done, seen and lived a life that she would not have had if we had stayed together.  As much as it as hurt over the years, I do not regret giving the BBG a better life.  One that I could not provide.  Now I look forward to the day I am able to know her as not the baby from my memories, but the young woman she now is.

    Happy Birthday Beautiful Baby Girl.

  • the proverbial towel

    well it is official.

The Husband has finally thrown in the towel and left the company that he was working for.  It was coming.  From a safety stand point I am amazed they are operating with out any accidents.  And the way that they treat their workers is appalling!  I have never heard of such treatment in this day and age never mind in our own culture.  I am surprised that he hadn’t left earlier ~ like after they laid him off 10 days before Christmas…

So if you know of any quarrying jobs going in the Calgary, All of Alberta, BC and Western Saskatchewan areas …. drop me a line.  And all thoughts prayers and well wishes for a new and better job for TH are much appreciated while being requested.
