oh what at a night
and it was not late December back in 63!
upon collecting the monsters from the childminder, it was discovered that Wee Blonde Child was having great difficulty going to the toilet, a BM in particluar. Sooooo we go home and WBC just sorta lays about holding her tummy and doesn’t want to eat and eventually falls asleep on the sofa. After The Husband gets home from work WBC wakes up and is not any better and is possibly worse!
Here in Alberta (the province in which we live) there is a phone number you can call and talk with a health professional. This is excellent!! 24 hours a day you can get health advice instead of clogging doctor surgeries or Urgent Care facilities.~ I’m digressing ~ So I ring the Health Link and answer all the questions and end up advised to take WBC to Urgent Care or the Childrens Hospital if Urgent Care wasn’t available.
Soooo off to Urgent Care WBC and I went. At 9:50pm. We had 10 minutes to get there, as long as they weren’t busy that was our first stop as the Childrens Hospital is on the other side of the city. And not really knowing where it was and it was dark ….. I made a point of getting to Urgent Care ~ I knew where it was.
SO two hours later we are leaving Urgent Care and that screaming you heard last night?? That was WBC not wanting the doctor to listen to her chest. Or feel her tummy. Or look at her in general. So the doc says to give her 5mls of mineral oil two times a day increasing by 5mls each dose up to 20mls twice a day until she goes. Here’s hopin!

why people! WHY!
you will not believe what I have witnessed today ~ I can’t believe what I saw!
While stopping at the Co-Op to get a couple things for the house I see a small child and her parent in the same store and think the “usual thoughts about another child”, you know the ones that jump in to your head about how cute/sweet the child looks, another possibly about their behavior at the time and how that would relate to my three etc. etc. etc.
I finish getting what I am getting and notice said child and parent (her mother maybe?)/adult she is with are at the cashiers too. I pay for my stuff and head out to my car and that is when I see it. Both the small child AND the adult get into a car and where does the child go? On to the floor behind the driver seat while the adult she was with got in to the car in the seat above where the child went! SHE GOT IN THE CAR ONTO THE FLOOR! AND THEY DROVE AWAY!!! Out on to a busy four lane road and headed toward one of the major thoroughfares through Calgary. I was so shocked that someone would have such disregard for such a precious life all I could do was stand there and watch!
WHY! WHY!! WHY!!!
at the end of the day the bus is far safer and cheaper in the long run even if all they do is get stopped and fined. I won’t even go to the other option, that makes me sick to think what would happen if there was an accident.

goals for this week
this week I am going to attempt to not let the house work pile up so that I have a whole DAY of house work to get caught up on at the weekend.
notice I said attempt?

The Husband is working weekends again!
its amazing the house work I can get done when my husband is not home during the day. Of course the most exciting thing I get to do today is laundry!

following on my mothers foot steps….
that is what you’re supposed to do as an adult right? If you’re a man you follow your father and if your a woman you follow what your mother did.
Thats what you do right??
Well if not I seem to be doing just that in many ways.
After I moved to Ireland I became an Avon representative, my mother was an Avon rep when I was the same age as Oldest Large Child.
The other day I went to sign OLC up for Brownies and was approached to be a leader of the group. When I was a small child, my mother was a leader of several different groups in the Girl Guides of Canada movement.
So in the best interest of my girls social well being, do I become a Brownie Leader?
