as the rest of the country reals from a hangover ….
well here we are again….. the request list. (for the praying types that read this and or anyone who is able to help…)
the short list:
- job offers for Paul to actually (finally in some cases) come through so he can get a work permit.
- we start selling things for the money we need to sell them for to make money for air fares etc.
- Paul’s health to improve drastically as he has had to start seeing a doctor that costs us €150 a VISIT! (thats $237 or $232 USD) non including the costs for the tests that have been requested….
The long version:
- recently I blogged about The Husband getting an initial job offer from a company in Edmonton, and how greatful we were about that. Since then things have been quiet and for the moment we have heard no more ~ sort of. The Husband has since had two more of the same “promise” of a job offer from two other companies. Now it comes down to this, if the company does not already have a Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC which allows that company to hire foreign workers, they have to apply for one. And as far as we know the companies that offered Paul the jobs either had an application in place OR were about to make one. Now from what we can interpret from these websites, it can take several weeks to gain this LMO. But there may also be a chance that a work permit can be gained without one.
- I have sold some items that were just waiting to be sold but none of the things we have been trying to or have sold went for the prices we want/need them to go for if they even generated a phone call to begin with!
- Paul has been technically off work on sick leave for nearly a year and it is genuine although he wants to return to work more from boredom than being fully well. We are frustrated with our GP as she hasn’t found any causes for Paul’s symptoms and doesn’t really seem interested in finding one.
If anyone is able to or feels lead to help in anyway we would be so very greatful. I can’t tell you the strain we have been encountering when it seems that no matter which way we turn there always seems to be something that hinders the whole process.
