  • PRAISE GOD FOR ALL MIRACLES!

Thank you to all who have prayed for us and please continue to do so!!!!

Paul was given a job offer this morning in Edmonton Alberta and just as soon as we can get the work permit sorted he will be away.  BTW Susan and Dave he’ll be invading your house ~ thanks in advance!!!  David behave!! and don’t lead Paul astray …. I’ll be following eventually and then you’ll deal with me!

The worst is not over yet.  We still have to get Paul a work permit and everything else sorted.  I am at the minute over the moon with this as it is the first real break we have had with regard to moving back to Canada where we both would rather be for so many different and the same reasons!

    WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!

  • my wee man is not so well

Healthy Weighty Wee Man is not so good.

He started with a barky-kinda-croupy cough on Monday morning and it has not gotten worse a tad bit better, but not worse.  Slightly feverish but not enough to give meds for.

Yesterday his fever went up enough to give meds for and even with the meds his fever isn’t really coming down much.

Today I am at work and I want to be home with my son.  His father, who is at home with him, is perfectly capable, but I am his mummy and I need to be there.

  • once again ….

    25 Forever!

why 25??  because it was my most fun birthday (thanks Megan and Jonathan!).  I was also old enough to know better, young enough to do it again and mostly wise enough to enjoy it the second time!

However, I seem to be not as able to maintain the same stamina I used to at the actual age of 25…. maybe three children and a husband of my own might be the cause of that??

  • six more weeks of winter??

Okay I didn’t check and I think its too late for doing so now, but I think the ground hog saw his shadow….

For the past week we have had freezing weather.  Healthy Weighty Wee Man isn’t bothered by the cold outside … until his hands are so cold you can’t touch them for 30 min after he comes inside.  We can’t make the girls go out, or at least we don’t walk over to the TV and turn it off and give no other option but go to bed or go outside.  Even The Husband and I agree that it’s cold outside ~ that is a miracle in itself as I have heard nothing but “you’re from Canada, you should be used to the cold!” for the past nearly four years.  To which I ALWAYS reply…”it’s a different cold there! and we actually get WARM there not like here where it’s lucky to see 20 Celcius for three days during May!”

This morning?  Two kettles of warm water before I could see well enough to make the three minute drive to work.  Blessing about starting work at 7am? NO TRAFFIC! Only thing I have to wait for is one traffic light and even then I usually cross on the red if I have successfully cleared the windows enough to see no traffic is coming that is.   And daily traffic in Dundalk is the worst I have ever encountered. See here

  • Chloe at the Feis

                            Certificate of Achievement

Okay so I am late posting this … deal.  And no Oldest Large Child did not win any of the trophies behind her, but she did do really really really well all things considered!  OLC pronounced all her words correctly (him was not pronouced ‘im) and she said her poem slowly and articulately.  She just could have been a tad lot louder.  I’m wondering why volume never seems to be an issue whenever she is telling me something in public that makes me want the ground to open wide and swallow me whole.  Like when she HAS to tell me in the queue at Tesco that woman behind us has a green booger hanging stuck on her face or the poo she just had hurt and smelled like farts…

  • belated Happy Valentine’s Day

To all and sunder who read regularly and not so regularly, I do wish a belated

Happy Hearts, Choco Box and Flowers Day!

I was going to post this yesterday when I got home from work, but 1) The Husband was on the home computer and 2) “later never comes” …..

  • Polly put the kettle on …. I need to go to work!

okay every morning this week, at the ungodly hour of 6am, bar today, I have had to pour at least three kettles of warm water over my car to be able to see out the windows.  Monday morning I had to pour water over the doors to get them to open before I could start the car to let it warm be fore I got in and drove away!

Oh I miss the land of auotmatic car starters and proper frost that didn’t require a kettel of water to get rid of but a good old fashioned window scrapper!

  • spring has sprung in Ireland

so the switch has been flipped and the mild weather is here.  Wednesday is was lashing rain, and hovering about 0 degrees Celcius (freezing for you American types who don’t use centigrade…) and then Thursday it was plus 18!!!!  I roasted at work that night as I went in prepared to be cold as I was the night before and well some weather fairy played tricks on me!!

Even the air smells of spring.  Not really warm and not cold either.  I keep thinking that it should be April not February.  At least April by Irish standards.  And that is conpletely different from the rest of the world…

  • you knows its gonna be a long night when…

you are no sooner started your 8 hour shift at 3pm and you ring the bartender to bring you a Red Bull with a glass of ice …

  • I know I posted this pic before …

but it is my absolute favorite of the girls.  They just did it.  I said, “Here let me take a picture of you.” and this is what happened.  I’m sure not if you can tell they were so excited to be going on the ferris wheel they had been looking at for days.  They look so happy and healthy and … just.  I can’t stop looking at it when I check my own blog…
