Monday. Gabrielle’s 3rd Birthday and First day of Preschool
So I am a mean mom. I sent my wee baby girl to her first day of school on her third birthday. However she had my head tortured with wanting to go and there was no getting her back in the car if I had to take her out when either dropping her off or collecting Oldest Large Child from school. During the day she was without anyone to play with as all her playmates were back to school and Healthy Weighty Wee Man just did not cut it most days as he would rather eat the crayons than colour with them and Barbie? Well she made a better hammer in his eyes than something to play with. SO a spot in the afternoon playgroup was secured and Wee Blonde Child was sent.

Now as this was also Gabrielle’s 3rd Birthday there was also a wee party after dinner because during all this other stuff The Husband and I were trimming the hedges in the back garden. That is not a task I would like to take on again in the form it was tackled in, but now that it is done it will be far easier to keep up than it was to start cutting on. However, pictures of that were not to be had and I will have to search for some before shots to compare with the after. The space! It feels like we have gained a whole half a garden! But the party ….

Then it was bed time. (prase the Lord for small miracles!)
Tuesday …. the day after.
Well the second day of school went very well and Gabrielle was just chuffed as chuffed could be to be going to school. I started taking one of the neighbour girls with me on the school run to sort of ease my guilty conscience about driving to school, but in my defence there is no bus that comes out here for Oldest Large Childs school! On the home front, there was still lots of cleaning up to be done in the back garden and still more branches to be cut. Lots of spiders were made homeless and therefore bird food, but ahhh well they certainly are NOT welcome in my house! I even found Spider repellent and it works! The afternoon ended with a very very tired Wee Blonde Child. She was so tired she had to take her pilfered apple to the play room and pass out 3/4 of the way through it!

Wednesday ….
Other than A LOT of rain, no too much happened. I went for a job interview that was very different. But I left it on a possitive so it couldn’t have been all that bad. And they ended up calling me back for a second interview that happened Saturday morning…
Thursday ….
Well a much better day weather wise and was looking good for a general around the house day except I ended up having to drive out to Termonfeckin (about 20 miles south of where I live off the motorway on some very twisty back roads) to drop my Avon order off. It was a bit of a race against time as I couldn’t leave Dundalk until 2.40pm and was unsure exactly how long it was going to take me to get out there and I HAD to have the order in by not later than 4pm. And as this was THE LAST order for that book and I had people wanting stuff tfrom that book ….. good thing I have a turbo engine. I made up time on the motorway whether I really needed to or not!
Friday! (again praise God for small mercies!)
While trying not to be doing too much running about … yeah right. Who am I trying to joke about?? I still spent the afternoon driving about Dundalk like a headless chicken. Me and my big mouth offered to make the birthday cake for Dermot Og (The Husband’s brothers youngest child) so there was a wee bit of mayhem included with that as I just had to have three hungry children (and a crop in the field!) about the house while I attempted to make a cake AND dinner at the same time. I am amazed I still have hair left! On the way out to deliver said cake to said birthday boy I got a call telling me that they were not home so a trip around the round about was made and home we went. I was never so happy!
SATURDAY!!!!! do you get that I am excited about that???
My second interview was had, a bit different again, but hey this is Ireland and I have come to think that the Irish don’t do much in the way of logical or practical. I was told I would have my answer by Monday. I got to spend the afternoon with Healthy Weighty Wee Man as The Husband took Oldest Large Child and Wee Blonde Child away with him. It was a grand afternoon. We went and cut Anne’s grass for her and had a doddle about the back garden talking to the neighbour on the other side of the back hedge (as he cut the other side!). Then we made the mad cap trip to Ballintemple to deliver the birthday cake and join the rest as that is where the other three went earlier. Now I am at home and I am thinking I should ring one of my family members back home as it is Thanksgiving and all, but you know what?? I am going to go to bed. I had a full enough day. They have the holiday, I’ll ring them on Sunday. And remind them to look here!
Till next time!
